Allison Neswood, Esq., Health Care Attorney

Allison joined CCLP in July 2014. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in political science from Yale University and her law degree from Columbia Law School in New York City. After graduating from law school, Allison worked for a private law firm that represents tribal governments and tribal organizations on issues related to Native American rights, water rights, tribal governance, and tribal economic development. As part of CCLP’s Health Program, Allison’s work is focused on defending the integrity of Medicaid and other public benefits programs and protecting the due process rights of benefits recipients. Allison has testified before the state legislature in defense of policies that have expanded access to health insurance and quality care for low income Coloradans. Allison has also provided technical support to advocates across the state that are trying to expand public health benefits options for low income immigrants. Her advocacy has led to state regulatory changes that ensure refugees and other immigrants that have fled violence or persecution can access the health benefits they are entitled to. Allison brings to CCLP a passion for defending the rights and interest of underserved populations.
