Nan Morehead has advocated for low-income and homeless people in the metro area for many years. She served for more than 20 years as the Director of Public Policy for the Denver Department of Human Services. In that position, she worked closely with members of Denver City Council, the State Legislature and the Colorado Congressional Delegation on issues affecting the most vulnerable members of the community. She worked to help families and seniors obtain public assistance benefits, to promote child welfare and to increase the availability of mental health services. One of Nan’s passions has been working to end homelessness and support affordable housing. She helped develop the Plan to End Homelessness, served as a member of the Mayor’s Commission to End Homelessness and represented Denver on the Metro Denver Homeless Initiative. She brings this experience and passion to CCLP’s Family Economic Security Program.
Nan received the Public Service Lifetime Achievement Award from the CO Non-Profit Association and continues to be very involved with local nonprofit organizations. She serves on the Executive Committees of the AFDC Coalition, Colorado Social Legislation and Colorado Housing Partners and is currently Board Chair of Colorado Common Cause. She has been involved with CCLP since its founding as a board member and a volunteer. She stepped down from the Board this fall to join the staff and continue her advocacy email@example.com 303-573-5669 ext.314
