Charles works as our Deputy Director of Research, using data and research to support our efforts to stand with diverse communities across Colorado in the fight against poverty. Charles has a background in urban planning, and is particularly interested in issues related to expanding access to housing, confronting spatial and racial inequities that are the legacy of past public policy choices, and democratizing data so that it can be a useful advocacy tool for CCLP and other organizations working at the state and local levels across Colorado.

Charles earned his Master in Urban Planning from Harvard University in 2014 and a bachelor’s degree from George Washington University in 2011. He worked as an associate at Clarion Associates, a land use and urban planning consulting firm in Denver prior to joining the Colorado Center on Law and Policy in 2019.

He enjoys working with the passionate and talented staff at CCLP and looks forward to any opportunity to provide policy makers and the public at large with the data and research they need to make informed decisions about the challenges and opportunities facing Coloradans.
