Expanding Economic Opportunity

With wages barely growing in Colorado, many families struggle to cover the rising cost of housing, child care, transportation, food and health care. Meanwhile, the staggering wealth gap between White families and Black and Latino families reflects generations of discriminatory policies and practices.

Our Approach

We promote policies that put financial stability within reach for Coloradans who are working and yet struggling to make ends meet.

Our Progress

  • Families earning under $25,000 will be eligible for a Child Care Tax Credit thanks to CCLP’s efforts.
  • We led the Skills2Compete Colorado Coalition and its legislative efforts to fund adult education providers working in partnership with post-secondary training and employment programs. These providers help people gain a diploma and skills to get a job. (See Skills2Compete page for more information on access to skills training.)
